Cowboy

Cowboy is a handsome 2-year-old who we believe may be a Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever mix based on his looks, but one thing we know for sure is that he's 100% happy, loving, and ready for a family of his own. Cowboy can seem a little shy when he's alone in his kennel, but the moment he's outside with other dogs, his true personality comes to life. He loves romping around with his canine friends, soaking up every minute of playtime. He's heartworm negative, walks beautifully on a leash, makes a great copilot for car rides, and has a calm, lower-energy personality that's perfect for someone looking for an easygoing companion. At around 40 pounds, he's the perfect "lap-sized" best friend with a striking black-and-tan coat. Cowboy's story could have been very different. He arrived at the shelter wearing a collar that had become so tight it had begun cutting into his skin. Thankfully, someone stepped in to help. We were able to remove the collar, treat his wounds, and give him the care he deserved. Today, he's almost completely healed—and he hasn't let his past steal his joy. Instead, he greets each day with a wagging tail, eager to play, make friends, and hope that today is the day someone chooses him.
